First Semester Syllabus


SEWING Curriculum



Week 1
SEW  FUN

Sewing implements guessing game w candy rewards.   

Getting to know a machine.  Presser foot, tension, etc.    

Straight line stitching without thread on paper following an inked line. 


Week 2

Tools:

Theory: 

Application

VISION CAST                        Use that machine!   

Threading, bobbins.   Give them their sewing kit.

Make a casing, turn, and ironing skills.

Week 3

Sew a casing,  thread it into pillowcase and tie off.

Material/textiles discussion.  Correct use, weight, durability.   PINTEREST VOCAB.
